The Wedding of Alexandra and Jan, The Salutation

Alexandra was a good friend from my art college days in London, over the years we lost contact as often is the way with ‘growing up’.

I received a very friendly email from Alex explaining that she had become engaged to a wonderful man by the name of Jan. Alex asked if I would mind travelling to London to photograph their wedding. We met at St James’s Park to discuss their day and to photograph their engagement shoot. Much like their future wedding day, the weather was spectacular and it was great to catch up with an old friend and make a new one in Jan.

We chatted, snapped, walked and eventually rested on some deck chairs to watch the last of the sun set over Buckingham Palace.

Theirs was an intimate wedding full of warm and kind people spanning four generations. It was a beautiful day and one that I was very much honoured to be a part of.

The Wedding of Frances and Johannes at Castillo Santa Catalina, Malaga

The story of Frances and Johannes is a romantic tale. Frances is from Ireland and Johannes is originally German. They live together in Switzerland although life has not always been quite so simple for them…

Like many of our clients, they work in highly skilled industries that involve lots of travel and throughout their time together they have made immeasurable efforts to grab whatever time they could to be together whilst living and working in different countries and (sometimes) different continents.

I have a deep admiration for couples who make long distance relationships work, though judging by the warmth and kindness they show each other, I’m not surprised that they made this work. Somethings and some people are just worth the effort.

Frances and Johannes and their families are warm, kind people who really made the time for every guest who visited their castle wedding at the beautiful Castillo de Santa Catalina in Malaga.

Their wedding day was on a beautiful hot September day with low golden sun and the warm Spanish evening that enabled their guests to enjoy a shared dance in the courtyard before heading inside for the late night dance floor.

Congratulations! We wish you both every happiness in the future.

The Wedding of Charlotte and Alex at Marleybrook House, Canterbury

We met Charlotte and Alex over a coffee, just before their engagement photo shoot. We discussed their wedding day, how to act in front of the camera, how to best relax and get the most from their shoot and many other aspects of their planning... but mostly, we discussed the vintage fairground that was at their wedding venue.

The fairground made such a great focal point of the entertainment aspect of their day; the venue is unusual yet elegant, there were quiet walkways, hidden gardens, a lake, a beautiful bridal suite along with endless items of decorations to look at that the venue had at their disposal, but the couple got it just right in bringing in so many of their own things including around 100 empty gin bottles.

If you are looking for an unusual venue with picturesque settings and great entertainment for your guests in South East of England then this would be an ideal setting.

It was a fun, quirky, gin soaked day with plenty of laughs, unusual decorations and smiles all around. We were honoured to be a part of it.

The Wedding of Katie and Rob, Hacienda San Jose, Mijas - August 2018

Katie and Rob are a young well travelled couple who brought their wealth of worldly experiences to Hacienda San Jose, near Marbella. They incorporated much of their international interests into the decor and entertainment. Their guests travelled in from so many far flung places across the world to attend their wedding day.

Katie and Rob’s guests were a fun, vibrant crowd who enjoyed partying into the night, and entertaining their respective families. The couple and the crowd were a loveable and eclectic group; yet it goes without saying that their Mexican guests were the best dancers. From the moment the music started to the moment we left, there was hardly an inch of room to spare on the outdoor candle lit terrace.

From the mariachi band, the Mexican decorations, the food, the globe themed cake, the guests and their attire as well as the wealth of entertainment provided, it was truly a beautiful celebration on one of the hottest days of the summer and one that we truly enjoyed being a part of.

The Pre-Shoot of Billie & Billy, Malaga, July 2018

We have known Billie & Billy for several years now; they too are a couple who work together so perhaps we have a deeper understanding of each other than many couples do… it takes a certain person to be able to work with their partner!

Billie & Billy rebuilt our old photo studio and office space to make it safe for our daughter, their skilled carpentry was in keeping with the 400 year old building we set up our company in, so it is no surprise that Billy planned to propose with a self made proposal ring (photographed).  If you followed us on instagram back in 2015 you will have seen their handy work.

When Billie contacted us to photograph their wedding day in Malaga at the place they first met, we welcomed the opportunity to photograph and celebrate with them with open arms.

It was great to catch up with them, to hear about their engagement in person and eat all of the tapas. We certainly did  eat!

We really cannot wait to be a part of their beautiful wedding day, and to see all that they have planned for it.

Having a pre wedding photo shoot is a great way to gain confidence in front of the camera and to get to know us, to go to a location that is meaningful to you both. Forget about the cheesy staged shots, let's go to a mountain, beach, landmark or somewhere that just makes you stop and go wow. It's time to relax and have fun in the sun or maybe under the stars... We know that our couples are all different so we try and plan to make things as unique and personal to you as we can.

The Wedding of Andrea and Barry, Marbella, June 2018

We met Andrea and Barry in Nueva Andalusia last year and immediately felt at ease with them. They are kind hearted, relaxed people and we knew that we would get along with them fantastically on their big day.

People often underestimate how important a bond is between themselves and their photographer can be; when you click with someone you feel that you can trust them and the couple felt happy to entrust their wedding day to us.

June is a fantastic month to get married in Spain, it is very hot but not as stifling as July and August can be, and you get the longest days of the year and therefore some of the latest and longest sunsets. You’ll never hear of a photographer complaining about a beach visit for sunset and this wedding was no exception

These are a few of our favourite images from their day. You can find a few others on our galleries.
