The Wedding of Billie & Billy in Málaga

Billie & Billy met as teenagers at the family home of Billy (‘boy’ - as he is affectionately known by friends) in Periana where Billie (‘girl’) was visiting on holiday. It may have started as a holiday romance, but it certainly lasted… They remained close once Billie returned to England and with the support of their families maintained their relationship across two countries that included visits. Billy boy credits the invention of the Nokia 3210 in their being able to maintain long distance contact with each other, Billie girl has a slightly more romantic tale.

The support and love of their families was a central theme of the day and the warmth was easy to feel and bear witness to.

We absolutely love the photos guys!!! They are gorgeous!!! The lighting, the backgrounds. Just beautiful.

I get tearful just looking at them, I just love them.

- Billie

Billie & Billy later lived together in rural Greece and Spain before moving to live in London with their Greek rescue dog Nicos who accompanied the best man down the aisle.

Helen and Billie have been friends for some time, although I know them personally through their business as artisanal carpenters and our shared love of alfresco dining that has led to many an evening in Malaga and London sampling wine, tapas and bbq food. I (Sam) do build a surprising number of my relationships through food... indeed during their engagement photo shoot in Malaga city we took a break for tapas!

One of the great things about being a wedding photographers in Malaga is the huge range of venues that we get to discover. Along with the incredible light and views across the region, this has been one of the reasons that we call Spain ‘home’. The raised vantage point from Billy´s family home gave phenomenal views of the rugged landscape of El Cañuelo and Periana across the Sierras de Tejeda and the distant sea view across Vélez-Malaga.

Their wedding day was a true reflection of themselves; relaxed, full of kindness, warmth, great music , food and company. They partied late into the night and enjoyed every moment of their beautiful Malaga wedding day in June.

The wedding of Billie and Billy was shot on digital and 35mm film cameras. Please see our 35mm film page for more information about how you can incorporate film images into your wedding day.

We hope you enjoy this small glimpse into their beautiful wedding in the hills of Vélez-Malaga.

The Wedding of Sophie and Luke, at Finca Amalur and Amare Hotel, Marbella

Sophie and Luke are a young, fun, energetic couple who were incredibly easy to work with. They were laid back and made for great company. Likewise, their friends were ready to party, yet kind and courteous.

Sophie had her preparations in a beautiful suite at the Hotel Amare on the edge of Marbella Old Town. The hotel gave her bridesmaids a huge preparation room where friends and family members started the celebrations early.

Their chosen wedding venue was Finca Amalur overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and parts of Marbella along with stunning views of La Concha - not many people know that Marbella is located at the bottom of a mountain range that is 1200 meters in height, which makes it taller than any mountain range in England, Wales or N.I. and just shy of Ben Nevis in Scotland which is the only British Mountain taller than La Concha.

With the sun setting across the mountains, views of the Mediterranean Sea and their guests enjoying the entertainment of the day, it is safe to say that their wedding day was a wonderful event for all involved.

Being a wedding photographer in Spain and covering destination weddings allows access to such a variety of venues, and we thank the couple for choosing us to be their wedding photographer in Marbella.
